Welcome to Shane + Pepper Pawsitive Warrior Spotlight! Our mission is to shed light on their story and bring awareness to the world. 

We want to introduce you to Adelyn. She is a sweet, funny, and brilliant four-year-old. Here is her story.  

Adeyln diagnosis is D2HGA Type 2 neuro-metabolic disorder.  D-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria is a neurometabolic disorder first described by Chalmers et al. (1980). Clinical symptoms include developmental delay, epilepsy, hypotonia, and dysmorphic features. Adelyn never gives up! Her greatest strength is her ability to work hard and persevere through what sometimes feels like impossible odds. Even with more than her fair share of challenges, she continues to make extraordinary physical and cognitive gains.  

Adelyn has the most loving parents and family. She is also an amazing BIG sister to her two little brothers. Not only that, but this little lady loves to go horseback riding and swimming! After all of her activities, she loves to eat! Adelyn is a big foodie! She enjoys everything from eggs to cupcakes to green beans and everything in between.   

Miss Adelyn also enjoys relaxation. While she is cuddling, she enjoys sucking her thumb and playing with her hair. Now that sounds relaxing, Addie! 

 Now let us talk about her best friend! Adelyn has a service dog from 4 Paws for Ability named, Soulo. Soulos is a medical alert and mobility assistance service dog. Soulos job is to make sure Adelyn is safe and will alert her parents if something is going on with Adelyn. 

We asked Adelyn, " What message do you want the world to know about you?" Adelyn's response, " Talk to me, I love being a part of the conversation and feel included. I may not talk back, but I'm always listening.
